So shortly after graduation, Ross chose to abandon practicing law. However, tuition was too high for his family to afford, so he enrolled instead in the evening program at the Northeastern College of Law, known for its public interest law.įor reasons publically unknown, he found it difficult to practice law and make ends meet. His family was not one of great means, as his father worked in a shoe factory.Upon graduation from Lynn Classical High School, he applied and was admitted to the prestigious Tufts University Law School. Ross was born in 1916 to a Jewish family in Lynn, MA, a short distance north of Boston, on the shores of the Atlantic. However, life took him to jewelry retailing where, as fate will have it, his legal background served him well. It was a pursuit he found great interest in, and eventually has even practiced to some extent.
